[...] In yesterday’s somewhat more dignified outing against the Mets, Yankees fans will recall our awe and glee at besting Santana. Johan Santana –the Finnish Gift from God, for the love of all things holy. They will also remember the thrill of the nine-run fourth inning, including two-run dingers from both Robbie and Upper-deki.

No relationships or history within the political arena are actual “credentials”? So, like 99% of us are unwittingly qualified to be running for Senate.

Exactly. My next door neighbor's son spent the summer working for the town public works department, and came away disgusted with the poor management of the town employees. The career politicians go in thinking this is the norm, while someone from outside, who worked in the real world, might actually complain!

I'm with you. These "Joba Rules" are completely nonsensical. We get that he's a young and fragile pitcher, but cut the umbilical cord already.

Thought your piece was well written. Especially liked the descriptive language about Steinbrenner and his new monument to himself.

Good job! Hope to hear more from you.

Hey we all screw up some more than others. If his wife is willing to forgive than everyone else should be willing to as well.

Check out my new baseball novel, 33 Summers, with a guy much like Josh Hamilton. Find it at: www.amazon.com/33-Summers-Darren-Pare/dp/1608602605

If people want to hate on a ballplayer for "using," they should feel free to judge Manny for being Manny or Ortiz for being Ortiz. The list goes on and on of guys like them cheating and being awful role models.

But Josh being Josh? He is the perfect example of wasted potential. Whether or not this last fall off the wagon has had any part in his fall from baseball slugging heroics, at least it is a great teaching tool for showing kids (and real people) what NOT to do.

Let's hope he can stay clean and tear some Angels pitchers a new one in this last 7 weeks! Screw the Wild Card. How incredible would it be if Hammy came a clubbing and helped his squad take the West? Only 4 games out right now...
